Winter Oil Relocated |
|
|
It's generally regarded as a good idea to change your street machine's oil before you put it in storage if you're not driving it for the next several months.
Without getting lost in the details, we'll just say that burning fuel creates acid byproducts that get absorbed into your oil. If your oil loses it's ability to absorb that acid then the whole mess sits in your engine for all those months slowly eating away at the metal.
If you're prepping your car for storage and draining the oil anyway, you may be interested in taking a little extra time to relocate your oil filter.
This will give you the choice to add dual filtration, free up room down under or lay groundwork for some cooling options. The remote oil filter relocation kit from Trans-Dapt makes it about as cheap and easy as possible.
With so many fitment options there's bound to be the right part for your particular car so have a look at the Trans-Dapt over at Summit Racing. |
