A Boost of 1300psi to the Brakes |
|
|
Your car hurls its metal mass forward faster than it was ever designed to. This puts a smile on your face and the faster you go, the more teeth appear... right up until a deer runs out in front of you.
Your leg locks up sending the urgent message to your brake fluid that it's show time. That fluid wakes up your calipers and the wheels are put in lockdown mode. If you've updated the rotors and calipers you'll also stop faster than your car was designed to, but your line pressure may keep you at a fraction of your potential.
That's where hydraulic brake boosters earn their pay, by getting the attention of your calipers with a bull horn. Hydraulic brake boosters aren't dependant on engine vacuum which can be affected by cam overlap and they fit in tighter corners than vacuum booster setups.
The advantages are clear and the install is pretty straight forward. If you're converting from drum to disk, beefing up your cam or just want to maximize other upgrades why not pay a visit to Classic Performance Products.
While you're there, check out some gorgeous direct replacement HydroBoost systems that shove out an amazing 1300 psi. |
