Carburetor The choke's open, the float drops, the venturi fills and the throttle ushers the potent mix off to burn. Carb's are simple in theory and completely approachable sitting there in front of you in one complete piece.

Tear them open with naive enthusiasm and you can find yourself in post-assembly purgatory, nervously hovering over extra parts, stretched springs, vacuum leaks and linkages to nowhere.

Carburetors could be one of those things where it's easier to practice on the one you don't need and send the primary one in to a place like National Carburetors, who've been in the business for over 50 years.
