Thermoplastic Hose Clamps : Better Looks, Better Seal
It's not too often that a completely new development happens with hose clamps. Dressing them up often means using a traditional worm gear encased in something that's been anodized and the functionality remains the same.
Gates has a new product called their PowerGrip SB Clamp made from a heat sensitive material that tightens up it's grip with applied heat on both silicone and standard rubber wall hoses, even on out-of-round fittings. They come in a large range of sizes and really dress up the engine compartment with smooth clean lines for only a couple of bucks. They're wider than traditional clamps and designed to seal over both the hose and the fitting it's connected to making a tight seal of uniform pressure, grip and physical coverage of the seam. The hotter they get the tighter they grip so pick up some thermoplastic clamps at Rock Auto.
