The Humpback of Phoenix - '36 Ford Tudor Sedan
After decades of playing second fiddle to the more-popular '32-'34s, it seems the gentle curves of the '35-'37 Fords have truly begun to carve their own niche. Many like them because they're different, but it seems many more are drawn to them based on their tasteful design.

NSMC member Bruce Ham, now of Fountain Hills, AZ, is such a man. He's been the owner of this particular '36 Humpback (officially a "Tudor Trunkback Touring Sedan") since 1985...long before they were in demand.

Purchased as a '70s-era rod, Bruce liked the car, but not many of the mods the previous owner had done. The mile-high stance and sparse interior were barely functional, but it did have a small-block Chevy V-8 installed, and it was a hot rod.

In 2003 he decided to rebuild it from the ground up beginning with a Rod Factory Stage III chassis, a Mustang II-based front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, Ididit steering column, and leaf-sprung Currie 9-inch Ford rear that all work in concert to deliver excellence the previous chassis never could.

Over the course of 17 years Bruce completely rebuilt his car twice. The full story and video can be found here in "The Humpback of Phoenix."
