'76 Ford F150: No Respect
Ahh the seventies... guitar rock gave way to disco, free love just turned into streaking and most pony cars turned into horse poop. Where will you turn to get your hot rod fix from this dark era of OPEC rule? Trucks.

While "muscle cars" started getting V6 and ( horror ) 4 cylinder transplants, trucks needed healthy V8's for duty but often get lumped into 70's shame. Take Bruce Tschida's 1976 F-150 as an example of a gorgeous street machine that survived the 70's.

The slick black paint palette is interrupted with pinstripes barely containing the flames rolling off the quarter panels. When the Air Ride is relaxed and hits the ground you can barely make out the Toyo rubber framing the 18" Coddington Smoothies. All the stock 390 needed was a little freshening up with a mild cam and low pressure exhaust to make some trouble. A C6 automatic, 9 inch rear end and 4.11 gears push the power to the street and let's face it, this is a ride to be proud of.

Jealous? Then boogie onto the web and find yourself a 70's truck while they're still cheap and get no respect.

A collector of 70's cars speaks.

You think gas is expensive now?
