Young Old School
Are High School car clubs going the way of the dinosaur, Dodo Bird and drum brakes? They used to be a way for teenagers to deny the beaten path, forge their individuality and fostered such values as teamwork, mutual respect, and learning new skills. Michael Miranda of Bloomfield, NJ, and his crew are determined to keep the old ways alive.

Mike spends a lot of time with his Street Aces car club pals going to shows, cruise nights and working on cars at the Lyndhurst, NJ, garage the club pitches in to rent out. Collectively they're getting more hands-on experience than they ever would alone. "I've helped my friends with their brakes, mounting tires to rims, and putting in motors," Mike says.

With the bittersweet days of high school car clubs fading away, it's refreshing to see the old school ways still existing around the country. What can you do to help invest in someone's life and cultivate a youth car group in your area?
