15-Year-Old Claims Top Honors |
|
|
Say hello to a 15-year-old girl whose shooting skills will knock your socks off. North Carolina teen Sydney Duncan recently earned the honor of "distinguished expert" in the Winchester/National Rifle Association Marksmanship Program.
So, if you're hoping your children get into hunting and shooting, take a look at Sydney's story to see a good example of how it happens. Don't want to spoil the story, because you really should give it a quick read, but here are a few highlights:
- She started hunting when she was 8, and shot her first deer at 10.
- She's the only female member of the Gaston Young Guns club. (NOTE: We're preaching to the choir here, but there's no reason you can't introduce your daughters to shooting.)
- She got into competitive shooting after watching a police department sniper event. "I was like, 'They have jobs for this stuff?'" she said. "You can sit around and work with guns? That definitely sparked my interest."
Find out what Sydney's dad has to say about it all, and read the full article. |
