August 4, 2009 Get to the Root of Your Weed Problems
Whether they're annoying grasses or ornamentals that seemed like a good idea until they showed their thuggish habits, weeds are unwelcome guests in your garden.
The best way to keep your garden guest list in check is to understand who's a friend and who's a foe. Ken Thompson's new book, The Book of Weeds, helps you do just that. Along with colored photos, The Book of Weeds offers guides to identification, prevention, and eradication—with eco-friendly solutions. Learn which weeds are a nuisance and which are actually beneficial, attract wildlife, and are edible (pass the sowthistle, please). No doubt, weeds are a pain in the grass. Send them on their way—grab a copy of The Book of Weeds.
