June 25, 2009 Kill the Bad Bugs, Spare the Good Ones
It always makes us cringe when we hear about people spraying their gardens with all-purpose bug killers. With so many good bugs out there helping keep the bad guys in check, why kill them all with the single squeeze of a spray bottle?
Of course, some bugs really are pests. You can use selective pesticides that zap the bugs that harm your garden while sparing the ones that help. If you can do that organically, all the better. That's why Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew is so intriguing. It's an organic product that uses Spinosad (which comes from soil-dwelling bacteria) to kill common pests like bagworms, spider mites, thrips, and tent caterpillars. And it doesn't harm beneficial insects. If you want to wipe out your garden's worst pests while giving the good guys a break, look for Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew at Ace True Value Hardware stores and independent garden centers nationwide.
